AI Ethics & Hallucinations

How we keep our AI mostly honest and only slightly delusional

Our AI Approach
The method behind our madness

At Financial Fusion, we use advanced AI models to generate our content. This allows us to create a high volume of financial news with our signature blend of tones - from serious analysis to existential musings to outright humor.

We believe in being transparent about our use of AI. Unlike some publications that might try to hide their algorithmic authors, we proudly display our AI-generated status. After all, in a world where humans increasingly sound like robots and chatbots increasingly sound like humans, what even is reality anymore?

Our AI Ethics Principles

  1. Transparency: We clearly label all AI-generated content. If an article sounds like it was written by a caffeinated robot with a philosophy degree and a penchant for financial jargon, that's because it probably was.
  2. Fact-Checking: Our human editors review AI-generated content for factual accuracy. We try to ensure that while our tone may be absurd, our facts are solid. Numbers, dates, and proper nouns are given special scrutiny.
  3. Bias Mitigation: We train our AI to avoid harmful biases while maintaining our irreverent tone. Our goal is to poke fun at markets and financial institutions, not individuals or marginalized groups.
  4. Responsible Financial Content: We clearly distinguish between factual reporting, analysis, and satire. We never present our humorous or existential content as actual financial advice.
  5. Continuous Improvement: We regularly update our AI systems and training processes to improve accuracy and reduce hallucinations. Though sometimes the hallucinations are the best part.
About Those Hallucinations...
When AI gets a little too creative with the facts

AI models sometimes "hallucinate" - generating content that sounds plausible but is factually incorrect or entirely made up. This is particularly common with financial data, company names, or specific events.

We take several approaches to manage this:

  • Human Review: Our editors check key facts, especially in our more serious content.
  • Fact Grounding: We provide our AI with up-to-date, accurate financial information before asking it to generate content.
  • Embracing Absurdity: In our humorous and existential content, we sometimes lean into obvious absurdity. If an article claims that "Bitcoin has become self-aware and is now trading itself," we trust you'll recognize the joke.
  • Corrections: If we publish something that turns out to be incorrect, we'll correct it. Unless it's really funny, in which case we might just add a note clarifying that it's not true.

A Note on Financial Data

While we strive for accuracy in market data, prices, and statistics, we recommend verifying any specific numbers with primary financial sources before making investment decisions. Remember, Financial Fusion is primarily for entertainment, not for making life-altering financial choices.

If you spot something that seems like an AI hallucination or factual error, please let us know through our "Yell At Us" page. Our AI appreciates the feedback, even if it sometimes gets its feelings hurt.
